Who we are

The “Associazione per la Ricerca che Cura” – ARCA-ONLUS is a nonprofit, socially beneficial to society association registered at the revenue authority of Novara.

ARCA was established on 8 June 2018 by professors and young researchers from the University of Eastern Piedmont in order to support the translational research activities on autoimmune diseases within the Interdisciplinary Research Centre on Autoimmune Diseases IRCAD and the Centre for Translational Research on Autoimmune and Allergic Diseases (CAAD).

The following people are members of ARCA Board: Dr. Giuseppe Cappellano (President), Prof. Annalisa Chiocchetti, Prof. Mara Giordano and Dr. Nausicaa Clemente.

The choice of our logo was well thought out. The ARCA logo perfectly describes the goals we have set ourselves. The ark represents a large container to protect KNOWLEDGE, and the heron, symbol of WISDOM, shares this knowledge with ‘insiders’ and most importantly with all members of the community, in Novara. The heron together with RICE are the true protagonists of our territory. ARCA in its early days received support from RISO BUONO, a Novara-based agricultural company. ARCA adopted their Artemide rice, a pigmented rice with an elongated, thin shape. The Artemide grain is black and aromatic and in Italy is produced exclusively by Dr Cristina Brizzolari and marketed under the brand name Riso Buono.

ARCA wants to disseminate scientific knowledge in the field of autoimmune and allergic diseases in order to reach, in a simpler language, our community.

In order to do this, ARCA wants to contribute to the training of young researchers at our university (UPO), by raising funds to support valid research projects and scholarships for the further training of researchers.
